Dr. Christina Warden DSW, LCSW

I have worked in the Rockford community for over 25 years. I had the privilege of working for KP Counseling in Rockford as Clinical Director for several years. I earned my Doctorate in Clinical Social Work at Aurora University in Aurora, IL, and I have been an adjunct professor there teaching social work courses for many years.

I identify most with cognitive-behavioral therapy traditionally, but operate from several modalities, and received special training focused on helping individuals, couples and families with:

  • Couples' work, premarital counseling, infidelity recovery and restoration, divorce
  • Grief work, loss, difficult life transition, end-of-life care for patients and families
  • Depression, anxiety
  • Eating disorders, self-esteem and confidence-building, self-love
  • Faith-based work and spiritually-sensitive practice
  • PTSD with survivors of trauma
  • Children 16 years and up
  • First-responder care: I am certified in Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) response work, and I am passionate about and experienced in working with our first-responder and veteran population. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in both IL and WI.

Personally, my husband and I will celebrate 24 years of marriage this year, and we are very busy with our four children who are all involved in multiple sports and activities spanning from 5th grade to college-aged. Beyond my faith, my family, my friends and my work, I enjoy reading, writing, volunteering and spending time outdoors and with our busy life attending multiple sporting events for our kids. I welcome and enjoy the opportunity to speak in the community on topics related to mental health and well-being. I am dedicated to working as a conduit in others’ lives to promote understanding and healing.
