Khoa Ngo, LCPC

Khoa Ngo is a licensed clinical professional counselor (LCPC). She was born and raised in central Illinois where she received her bachelor of arts in psychology from Bradley University and then received a master of arts in clinical psychology with an emphasis in marriage and family therapy from Pepperdine University in Los Angeles, CA.

Since 2004 Khoa has been working in the field of mental health at various capacities including intervention specialist, therapist, supervisor, and instructor. She has worked in a variety of settings including hospitals, schools, homes, community agencies, prison, and private practice in California, Missouri, and Illinois. Her focus early on was with children, adolescents, and families, but since 2013 has expanded to working with couples and adult individuals.

In private practice Khoa is able to see children, teens, adults, couples, and families for a variety of problems ranging from emotional and behavioral to communication and social issues. She provides client-centered treatment by implementing different approaches dependent on the client(s) age, problems, and cultural preferences. Using an eclectic approach Khoa uses both goal oriented (such as CBT, solution focused, and behavioral interventions) and insight oriented (such as object-relations, self psychology, and humanistic psychology) techniques. Interventions she also incorporates are Gestalt, mindfulness, and neuropsychology.

Khoa is committed to providing the most effective mental health treatment to meet the needs of each individual, couple, and family. Although she sees people with a variety of diagnoses, she specializes in marital/couples discord, anxiety, depression, sexuality and gender identity issues, and behavioral problems.
