Latavia Elmore, LCSW

Latavia S. Elmore is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), who was born and raised in Rockford, IL. She received her undergraduate degree in sociology/anthropology and Russian from Swarthmore College in Pennsylvania and her Masters in Social Work from the University of Chicago. She is currently working on her doctorate in International Psychology with a Trauma specialization at the Chicago School of Professional Psychology. She has worked with diverse populations with many different backgrounds and histories.

Latavia has worked in various mental health settings, such as a crisis unit, community mental health, social service agencies, child welfare, residential treatment, organizations serving those with cognitive disabilities and private practice. She has utilized an eclectic approach in treatment modalities to assist clients in managing trauma, depression, anxiety and stress. She also has worked with clients of all ages to develop plans and approaches to feel more content in life and manage day-to-day challenges.

Latavia strongly believes in a collaborative approach in therapy where the client is able to recognize their strengths and ability to overcome fear, worry and lack of motivation. She uses cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy and crisis management to aid clients in their process and development.
